Atlético Madrid president Cerezo tells DAZN: “João Félix future? I always say the players play where in the club that they want… I don't know where João wants to play”. 🚨🇵🇹 #transfers

🚨 Chelsea reach verbal agreement to sign Joao Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid. Fee ~€11m (below initial #Atleti ask). Man Utd + Arsenal keen so 23yo had choice & #CFC project appealed. More reinforcements to follow this month @TheAthleticFC #MUFC #AFC https://t.co/igZlGZuf8h

Chelsea are now in advanced talks to sign João Félix from Atlético Madrid on loan until June. Deal at final stages — no buy option clause discussed. 🚨🔵 #CFC
— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) January 9, 2023
Fee will be more than €10m with salary covered and taxes. Talks accelerated after injuries and last game. pic.twitter.com/68q0hnG9CR
As revealed, although #CFC would love an option to buy, Atleti's starting position has always been a straight loan & they are yet to budge on this position. Chelsea know without one there is less long-term value. But the consensus is short-term needs make a deal worth pursuing.

For what it’s worth and just to add..from what I’m hearing this is very advanced. Will be surprised if Felix doesn’t end up at #CFC soon. (Usual caveat of it’s the transfer window, anything can happen until contract signed etc). https://t.co/cx4XddMgj2

João will fly to London in the next hours to undergo medical tests and sign. pic.twitter.com/F5aYKMgspa
Arsenal wanted Felix and Mudryk (their top priority and they remain confident on him), but were not prepared to pay more than £5m in a loan fee. #MUFC offered £3.5m earlier in the window. Neither club met Atleti's terms because they didn't see value.

João Félix deal will not have any impact on Christopher Nkunku move. Chelsea have already sealed the agreement with Leipzig for more than €60m fee 🔵🔒 #CFC

Nkunku will become Chelsea player in July, all done and signed also on player side as revealed in December. pic.twitter.com/f8xJ5MP5sb

Thuram will take his time and consider all the options, as @Santi_J_FM called. pic.twitter.com/zQ7IG0Hg7L
Chelsea consider Marcus Thuram as big opportunity on the market — with further talks to take place in the next days to discuss conditions and price tag for January. 🔵 #CFC

Thuram will consider all his options as he won’t extend contract with Borussia and he’d be free in June. pic.twitter.com/U7d3dAOK45
From Chelsea’s perspective it’s not Mykhaylo Mudryk or Marcus Thuram. They are working on both. Chelsea know each target has complications. Issue with Mudryk is asking price coupled with the player’s desire to join Arsenal. Challenge with Thuram is getting a deal done now. pic.twitter.com/Uz2GYDopVQ

Chelsea have improved attacking options with addition of João Félix on loan from Atletico which has been agreed between the clubs.#cfc trying to complete a deal for Marcus Thuram from Borussia Mönchengladbach, too, and considering move for Noni Madueke.https://t.co/mhWIIfWNQR
