We pick out some of the key Chelsea performers in yesterday’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, with Hakim Ziyech, Conor Gallagher and our new centre-back pairing all standing out statistically…
The Blues battled hard to return to winning ways following a sticky spell of form. Kai Havertz headed in the only goal midway through the second half, and we start our post-match analysis by dissecting the man who supplied the assist, Hakim Ziyech.
== Dangerous Ziyech proves decisive ==
Ziyech was at his dangerous, creative best. Operating off the right flank, he was a menace in possession, and might have set up a goal for Havertz before he did, with the German heading an arguably easier chance than the one he scored over the bar in the first half.
As well as those two key passes, Ziyech also registered a game-high four successful dribbles, evidence of his willingness to take his opposite number on. His 86 touches was the most of any attacking player on the pitch, and he combined well with Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher, inviting overloads beyond Palace’s backline.
Only Havertz had more than his three attempts on goal, while the Moroccan showed the other side of his game, too. His five tackles won was bettered only by Jorginho, with Ziyech regularly dropping into a right wing-back role out of possession to help preserve the clean sheet that proved so crucial.
== Centre-back pairing hit it off ==
Vital to our first shutout since the Bournemouth win on 27 December was the instant connection Thiago Silva and Benoit Badiashile struck up in central defence.
We have come to expect brilliance from Thiago, so it is testament to the quality of Badiashile’s debut that he matched the Brazilian in several defensive departments.
Both players won six aerials each, two more than anyone else on the pitch. They also each won all four of the tackles they attempted. Neither player was dribbled past.
Badiashile’s game-high nine clearances were fractionally more than Thiago’s seven as we dug in to repel late Palace pressure. The Frenchman’s pass completion rate of 96 per cent was especially impressive in his first experience of English football.
== Gallagher in the thick of things ==
In his first league start since the World Cup, Conor Gallagher was everywhere, adding bite to our midfield with four tackles won.
Only Thiago Silva and Badiashile spent more time in possession than the midfielder, and his 97 touches of the ball was a joint game-high figure.
Gallagher also ranked highest for key passes (three) and dribbles (four, equal with Ziyech). His 88 per cent pass success rate in a congested area of the pitch is testament to his care in possession on a satisfying afternoon for the Blues.

上半場踢的是介於 4231 和 433
的陣型，雖然沒進球但兩邊互有攻勢和得分機會，小查這邊沒太大問題，就是進攻時沒有多少幫助而已；霍爾在防守時則是被吃得很辛苦，他的最佳位置還是翼衛或是後腰；巴迪應該算是被英超的節奏和肢體震撼到；蓋拉格踢後腰就是少了扎卡那種由守轉攻的俐落感，多是選擇自己帶或是橫回傳，往前的視野不夠，但進攻上又是另一回事了，蓋拉格和霍爾兩人多次殺到底線創造很多機會，齊耶奇和哈佛茲也有許多鏡頭，上半場我車雖然讓凱帕有幾次撲救機會，但相對的進攻上也活了很多，沒得分就還是老問題。
下半場基調差不多，哈佛茲雖然進了唯一一球但又浪費掉一顆頭球，連同上半場那顆就是兩個大好機會了；霍爾不知道是不是受傷，但竟然不是派庫庫上來，反而讓庫里巴利去踢左後衛，搞不懂什麼狀況....
之後蓋拉格在中場拚得更兇，跑動範圍也更大了，兩邊依然互有攻勢，最後時刻水晶宮大舉壓上，波特換上
AZP
踢五後衛陣型，雖然還是險象環生但好歹苦守了下來，小查成功封鎖扎哈，凱帕也有精彩發揮，今天遠射全都撲得很好，希望球隊就此改運吧。
