Pulisic: We'll keep fighting for top four

Christian Pulisic still believes Chelsea can achieve a top four place in the Premier League this season despite our disappointing draw with Everton last time out.
普利西克仍相信卻爾西可以在本賽季取得英超前四的位置，儘管我們在上一場比賽中戰平了埃佛頓，比賽結果令人失望。
Pulisic had been sidelined for two months following a knee injury sustained in early January, but was given his first start since we hosted Manchester City on 5 January against the Toffees at the weekend.

The Blues were aiming for a fourth straight win and a final win in the month of March to continue our fine form heading into the international break.

A first Everton goal and last-minute equaliser from Ellis Simms ensured Everton travelled back to Merseyside with a share of the spoils, and after the draw with Sean Dyche’s side, the American reflected on the result.

‘It was tough to take, to be honest. We had a really strong week last week, a couple of wins in a row, and we thought we had another one. We have to learn from it and bounce back after the break.

‘We have built on our confidence. I like the way we are playing in a lot of ways. Saturday was unfortunate but yes, we can be proud of overcoming that tough spell we had and we are trying to look forward,’ Christian said.

‘I felt like we had a lot of control for most of the time I was in the game and naturally when you take a lead, you are a bit hesitant, a bit more defensive. That was the only time we felt threatened, at all, but I think it was a good performance and we could have been up by two or three goals.

‘The fans, for sure, have been great. We appreciate that. We will keep fighting and keep pushing, as we want to do well for the fans.’

Following the 2-2 draw with Everton, the Blues are now 11 points off Tottenham Hotspur in fourth position, but Pulisic is not writing us out of the race for a Champions League spot just yet.

‘If you string a couple of wins together, it’s possible. We still have to play the teams above us. Anything is possible, and we are going to keep fighting,’ he said.

Pulisic has been at Chelsea for a number of years now, but there are many new faces he – and his team-mates – have been getting used to in recent months.

Our new recruits will of course need time to adapt and gel, and that is something the Pulisic also believes.

‘It is normal, we have been getting to know each other. We have so many players in the squad and I think we are developing, you can see it on the pitch. Enzo and [Mateo] Kovacic, playing so well together. It is starting to click. We still have a long way to go but you can see the improvement.

‘That is what happens when you bring in new players - and we have brought in a lot - and you can now see the improvement. We go out with the team for meals and stuff and spend a lot of time together. So we do anything that can help, for sure. They are all good guys off the pitch and we are trying to translate that onto the pitch.’
