Jorginho tells talkSPORT he wants to stay at Chelsea but ‘won’t think about it now’ despite expiring contract

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho wants to extend his stay at the club, but insists he is not thinking about his future right now. The 31-year-old is out of contract at the end of this season and free to negotiate with foreign clubs in January.

When asked if he wants to stay, the Italian told talkSPORT: “Of course I do, I love Chelsea. But this is a thing I’m not going to think about now. I need to think about winning games. Otherwise it’s a problem.

“I’ll focus game by game and then we’ll see what’s going to happen. But my mind is on Chelsea now and trying to win as many games as possible.”

“Every player wants to know their future,” White told Jorginho. “You’re no different.”

Jorginho replied: “Maybe I am, you don’t know me! Maybe I don’t think now and I just think about the game on the 27th.”

That game comes against Bournemouth as Graham Potter’s men return to competitive action for the first time since November 12. Chelsea will be trying to end a five game winless streak when they return to Premier League action eighth in the table.

“I think he’s doing a really good job and now it’s just time for the results to come our way,” Jorginho added. “I really do [like working with him]. Him and his staff, they are really nice guys and they work hard.

Jorginho and his agent have made it clear that their priority is to extend with Chelsea.

But so far everything is quiet - no official talks between his camp and #CFC as of now.
